A married man with four children is in a difficult situation as his secret girlfriend, with whom he shares a child, threatens to reveal their affair to his wife unless he agrees to marry her and take on fatherly responsibilities.
The distraught man, who wishes to remain anonymous, sought help from Pastor Elisha Osei Kofi's popular confession program, Dying in Silence, where individuals share their problems in search of guidance and counselling.
According to the man, he has made numerous efforts to keep his secret girlfriend comfortable, including building a house for her, buying her a car, and setting up a fully furnished shop. However, despite these efforts, the woman insists that he marry her and treat their child with the same care and attention he gives his other children.
She demands that he transfer their daughter to the same school as his other children so he can be responsible for taking her to and from school, just as he does with the children he has with his wife. However, he explains that this would be impossible, as he currently drops off and picks up his children with his wife due to their close work proximity.
“The lady sitting beside me is my baby mama, though I am married with four kids. I have explained this to her several times, but she doesn't want to reason with me. I do not want anything that will bring problems to my home, which is why I went to the extent of buying a house for her. I also bought her a car. I want her to be okay.
"I have also bought a fully furnished shop for her, but she doesn’t want to reason with me. Whenever I take my kids to school, she gets upset and says I need to also take her child to school, which I can't do at the same time. She has threatened that she is going to tell my wife, which is why I have come for you to talk to her,” he said.
The woman, who also appeared on the show, voiced her frustration over being referred to as a "baby mama." She insists that because they have an ongoing relationship and share a child, she should be treated as a "second wife" rather than being relegated to the sidelines.
“What annoys me more is for him to call me baby mama because whenever he comes to my place, we have an affair. So, for him to refer to me as a baby mama, I don't understand. It is not like I want to collapse his marriage, but I want him to perform his duties as a man so that my child won’t be asking questions about why his father doesn’t care.
"How he gets time for his kids, he should equally get time for my child. He has to pick her up from school and bring her back home. My child also needs to feel that fatherly love. So, I wanted things to be simple for him, so he should change my child’s school and place her in his children’s school because I have a child with him; I am a second wife to him,” she said.
