Asamankese (E/R), June 2, GNA - Ofori Christian, unemployed, who posed as a police officer and official
of National Security, on Tuesday appeared before the Asamankese Circuit Court charged with
impersonation. Ofori's plea was not taken and was remanded in police custody to reappear on June 14. Police Chief Inspector F. K. Nartey, prosecuting, told the court that Ofori was stopped at a barrier at
Suhum mounted by the police and military personnel on May 30. He said Ofori who could not produce papers on the vehicle he was driving identified himself as a National
Security operative. During a search of the car a toy pistol and an Identity (ID)Card of a policewoman was found. He was therefore arrested and when he was arraigned he told the court presided over by Mr Emmanuel
Siameh that the ID card belonged to his girlfriend. The accused was remanded in police custody to enable the police to conduct further investigations into
the case.
