Kintampo, July 21, GNA- A fire outbreak at Kintampo has razed six stores and destroyed goods worth billions of cedis and cash.
Mr Agyapong Adu-Baah, proprietor of the stores, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that items destroyed were photocopier machines, computers, telephone receivers, electric type-writers, sound systems, sewing machines, aluminium sheets and lorry tyres.
Others were video cameras, car glasses, refrigerators, bags of granulated sugar, cartons of batteries, gallons of metallic paint, 1,500 dollars and 800,000 pounds sterling.
He said the disaster occurred while he was in Tema and that police were investigating.
Mr Adu-Baah said personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived at the scene when the fire "was beyond control".
