A 22-year-old man at Pamdu, a farming community in the Kintampo South District of the Brong Ahafo Region, is in a serious condition at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital after he attempted to commit suicide.
Reports DAILY GUIDE gathered indicated that Kwame Kusaasi aka Ginsin, who claimed he was fed up with life, attempted to behead himself by cutting deep into his throat on Monday evening, but residents managed to rescue him in the process.
At the time of his rescue, blood was oozing seriously from the cut throat. He was rushed to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Family members told DAILY GUIDE that their kin was responding to treatment as the doctors had managed to join the deep cut hole which nearly entered his oesophagus.
Joseph Ayarebatia, an eyewitness, informed the paper that the victim complained of some spirits haunting him, especially in the night.
The eyewitness said the said evil spirits haunting the young man pushed him to go and kill himself that fateful night.
According to Joseph, the victim had gone to a local pastor for prayers to recover from the said spiritual haunting, but on his way home he decided to end it all, but could not succeed.
