Many collapse in queue at State House

Reports reaching RadioXYZonline.com indicate that over 20 people have collapsed at the State House as a sea of Ghanaians and foreigners throng the funeral grounds to view the remains of the late President, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills.

According to XYZ News’ reporter, Emma Brown, the security officials are struggling to deal with the crowd that is massing up in-front of the Banquet Hall.

The queue of people hoping to view the body of the late president is over a kilometre long. There are reports that some soldiers have had to manhandle unruly people in the serpentine queue.

It is not clear what might have caused people to pass out but some people have been in the queue for about seven hours.

They are upset that even though they have been in the queue for a long time, some people considered to be dignitaries are bypassing the queue to enter the Banquet Hall.

They are therefore calling on the Funeral Planning Committee to ensure that people follow the laid down procedure.**
