Private legal practitioner, lawyer Maurice Ampaw, has admonished Martin Amidu to resign from his job, as Special Prosecutor is he feels frustrated.
The lawyer told Kwame Tutu on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm the complaints’ coming from Martin Amidu is not only troubling but also unfortunate. According to him, Martin Amidu as a courageous and fearless man should write to President Akufo-Addo and threaten him with resignation over the frustration he is going through.
‘’I don’t want Martin Amidu to come and sing to us. He is a man of principle. He was not appointed to come and tell us the problems he is facing. If he is facing problems; you [Amidu] know where you should direct your frustrations.
Don’t come and tell the media. Go to the president and tell him what your are going through.’’ He admonished Amidu to give the president a deadline and if he fails to resource him with the needed tools, he should resign.
‘’If you are being frustrated, resign from the job and stop complaining. But was quick to add that: ''The effect of Martin Amidu resigning as Special Prosecutor would be too much for the ruling NPP to handle ‘’because we hyped the special prosecutor. The nation and all political parties hailed him.
Martin Amidu will start writing epistles if he resigns and that would be disastrous for President Akufo-Addo.’’
‘’I think that it is high time Martin Amidu begins to threaten the current government with an intension to resign. If he is able to do that, he should copy Ghanaians so we will also know what is happening.’’
