Kweku Baako Kweku Baako

Editor in Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper Kweku Baako Jnr has called the bluff of former Attorney General Martin Amidu who has threatened to expose Tiger Eye PI.

Kweku Baako Jnr told Myjoyonline.com that the former AG will ‘fail and fall” if he pursues his intended agenda of linking government to a private investigations into judicial corruption done by undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

He stressed government played no role in investigations.

Amidu suggests in his latest anti-corruption campaign that government commissioned Tiger Eye PI, a private investigative firm belonging to Ace investigator and Editor of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper Anas Aremeyaw Anas to investigate the legislature as well as the judiciary.

However Mr Amidu, reputed for his steadfast campaign to fight corruption in high places claims, Anas in collusion with government, has suppressed the findings of corruption in the Legislature and the Executive but has played up the findings in the Judiciary to ridicule the third estate of the realm.

But in a strongly worded rebuttal, Tiger Eye PI vehemently denied the claims by Amidu that government was involved in investigating the corruption in the judiciary.

Anas acclaimed for his undercover investigation, will not, however, deny or confirm if there is any investigative piece about the Legislature and Executive because according to him no professional investigator will reveal the status of an investigation.

But Amidu is not impressed. In yet another epistle, released shortly after Anas’ rebuttal, the citizen vigilante vowed to expose Tiger Eye PI in his next public engagement.

Kweku Baako Jnr, who has mentored Anas in investigative journalism, has welcomed the challenge from Amidu.

His only regret is that Amidu is a man he respects so much and has defended him in the past but was quick to point out that the man popularly called ‘citizen vigilante’ has goofed badly this time and will fall heavily for it.

“I am so sad because I have supported his anti-corruption campaign all along. He has goofed on this matter! He will fail and fall”, he said.

Meanwhile, Martin Amidu has vowed to provide evidence to back his claims that undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas worked with government to suppress information.

Communication Minister, Dr Omane Boamah, has also denied Martin Amidu’s claim that Government and Tiger Eye collaborated in the undercover investigations into the judiciary.

He said the claims by the former Attorney General are unfortunate, “Martin Amidu is palpably wrong”.
