It was all smiles and joy as shipping and logistics giants, McDan feted widows, aged women and children in La Community, a suburb of Accra during the festive season.

The philanthropic gesture by the company had in attendance over 1000 women and children from La and its environs who were given 5kilo bags rice, drinks from Twellium Company, among other items.

The day began with the distribution of bags of rice and assorted items to widows and aged women in the community with a street party climaxing it.

Jonathan Marley, a senior executive at McDan, who spoke on behalf of Group Chairman, Daniel McKorley, revealed the reason behind the successful party which was to show love and gratitude to the people of La for their unending support to the McDan brand.

He posited that the move by his outfit resonates with the tenets of the festive period which is giving and bringing smiles on faces of people.

“The idea behind this feast is to show our gratitude and love to the good people of La. Dr McKorley and I decided to sacrifice our salaries to make the people happy during this festive season and I’m glad the programme went really well. The concept was to make these orphans, widows and aged women happy and I believe we achieved that. I want to thank everyone played a role in making the program a success, he said”.
