A very desperate attempt by the NPP propaganda
machinery to reduce the President, Prof. Atta-Mills, to the level of their
flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, has been flattened!
Martin Nesirky, Spokesperson for Mr. Ban Ki-Moon,
the UN Secretary-General, in response to claims by the NPP’s antiquated
propaganda machine that President Mills did not meet the UN boss on Friday,
December 2, 2011 has confirmed in a reply to a mail sent to him that the
meeting did take place.
The mail was sent to him by Roland Acquah-Stevens,
the Producer-in-Chief of Radio Gold’s
Newspaper review section of the Gold Power Drive in a bid to settle once and
for all arguments about whether President Mills met Ban Ki-Moon or not.
The email sent to the UN boss’ spokesperson on
07/12/2011 at 1:17pm read;
“Dear
Martin Nesirky
I
hope this mail finds you very well. I am a journalist working with Radio Gold,
one of the top five radio stations in Ghana. The objective of this mail is to
officially seek confirmation of the meeting between the President of Ghana, H.E
Prof. John Evans Atta Mills and H.E, Ban Ki-Moon on December 2, 2011.
This
request has become necessary as a result of some publications to the effect
that no such meeting took place at the U.N office as reported in a section of
the media.
I
would be grateful if you could provide an official response about the said
meeting and confirm exactly the duration of the meeting, the location and
exactly what was discussed.
It
may be equally important to provide details of the participation at the said
meeting.
My
desire for the information is to share with our radio listeners in the larger
public interest.
Thanks”
The reply from Martin Nesirky came about an hour
afterwards, precisely at 2:59 pm.
It read;
“Dear
Roland
Yes,
they did meet on Friday, 2 December at around 1100 New York time. Here is a
photo. It’s on the website:

We
don’t issue readouts or report on small meetings the Secretary-General has.
But,
I can tell you they discussed
n Election in Ghana
n Cote d’Ivoire
n Security in the sub-region,
including piracy, drugs and small arms trafficking
n Millennium Development Goals and
Rio20, next year’s sustainable development summit
n Aid effectiveness
n Maternal Health
n Ghana’s contribution to peace
keeping operatives
n Women empowerment
Best
Regards
Martin”
This official response
from Martin Nersiky, the spokesperson to the UN boss, Ban Ki-Moon surely halts
the NPP attempt to reduce President Mills to the level of their flagbearer ,
Nana Akufo-Addo.
The largest opposition party
in Ghana has still not overcome the shame that was its lot recently after its
claim that Nana Akufo-Addo met UK Prime Minister, David Cameron recently at a
private meeting at Number 10 Downing Street was exposed as a blatant lie.
Obviously, their motive
therefore for claiming that President Mills never met Ban Ki-Moon on Friday,
December 2, 2012 was to reduce him (the President) to the level of Nana
Akufo-Addo by getting unsuspecting Ghanaians to believe that that the meeting
between the Ghanaians President and the UN boss was a hoax just like that of
David Cameron and their flagbearer.
