Melcom cleans up Hospital and RCC

Tamale, July 1, GNA- The Staff of Melcom Limited, an Indian Trading Company on Thursday spent several hours to clean up the premises of the Tamale Teaching Hospital and the Northern Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) as part of its social services to the people.

The occasion marked the fourth annual celebration of the Company's operations in the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions.

The 63 workforce of the company, cleaned drains, cleared overgrown bushes and swept the premises of the two institutions. Mrs. Elizabeth Yahya, Principal Nursing Officer in charge of the Surgical Unit on behalf of the Hospital thanked the company for the gesture and urged them to manufacture simple containers to help the hospital to dispense drugs. She said the hospital alone could not keep its surroundings clean and called on other organizations to emulate Melcom.

Mr Sampson Akuettey Head of the Waste Management Department of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly, who represented the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Alhaji Iddrisu Adam, thanked Melcom for keeping the hospital and RCC premises clean.

Mr Seidu Yonye, Sales Manager of Melcom, said the company would open more outlets in the Upper East and Upper West Regions to stop the people from travelling to Tamale to buy their needs.
