Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo’s 44th-minute penalty secured a crucial 1-0 win for IF Elfsborg over AS Roma in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Baidoo, who played for 86 minutes, was key to Elfsborg's success at the Boras Arena.

He calmly converted the penalty into the bottom left corner after a foul in the box, registering his first goal of the competition. Baidoo’s performance was strong overall, with 80% pass completion (24/30), two shots on target, and four touches in the opposition's box, showcasing his composure and attacking threat.

Fellow Ghanaian defender Terry Yegbe played an important role in solidifying Elfsborg’s defence as they withstood Roma’s dominance, holding 75% of possession but failing to capitalize on their chances.

While Roma pushed hard, Elfsborg's resilience was evident, and the team will now shift their attention to the next challenge against Sirius in Allsvenskan this weekend.
