Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo continued his impressive form for IF Elfsborg by scoring a crucial goal in their 2-0 victory over HNK Rijeka, securing their progression in the UEFA Europa League qualification playoffs.

The Swedish side advanced with a 3-1 aggregate score after the decisive home match at the Boras Arena.

Baidoo broke the deadlock in the 68th minute following a tactical switch by Elfsborg, who had struggled to find the net in the first half.

His goal was a result of a well-timed pass from Swedish international Ahmed Qasem.

The match's second goal came in the 83rd minute, with Qasem scoring to seal the victory and ensure Elfsborg's advancement.

Baidoo, who played the full 90 minutes alongside compatriot Terry Yegbe, has now scored nine goals and provided six assists in 23 appearances across all competitions this season.

His contributions have been vital to Elfsborg’s campaign, making him an indispensable player for the team as they continue their European journey.

Jalal Abdullai, another Ghanaian at Elfsborg, missed the match due to suspension.
