The Board of Trustees and Management of Oklepeme Foundation is pleading with madam Patience Osafo who was manhandled by Lance Corporal Fredrick Godzi Amanor, her family and the entire people of Ghana to forgive the police officer for his despicable conduct.

According to them the Police officer in question is always conscious, reliable, smart, law abiding, nonviolent and generous whenever on duty and they (Oklepeme Foundation) was shocked with the video that went viral.

Madam Patience Osafo, had gone to the Midland Savings and Loans Shiashie Branch to withdraw an amount of GHC 250.

She, however, reported a little late after banking hours and was asked to leave. The woman who was clutching to her baby is reported to have pleaded with the bank officials to allow her cash her money.

But in a statement copied to GhanaWeb, Oklepeme Foundation states that most publications of the officer on WhatsApp and Facebook also show clearly that he is an ardent supporter or advocate of the Oklepeme Foundation’s Girl Child Protection and Development Policy.

“Venting that level of anger on a defenseless nursing mother was truthfully unlike him and very unfortunate. We, therefore, plead for mercy and forgiveness for him as we stand by our caution never again”.

The foundation further pledged an amount of GHC 1,000 to help offset the bills incurred by the assaulted woman, child and her family.

OKLEPEME FOUNDATION PLEADS FOR FORGIVENESS ON BEHALF OF LANCE CORPORAL FREDERICK GODZI AMANOR OF ACCRA REGIONAL OPERATIONS UNIT

The Board of Trustees and Management of Oklepeme Foundation wish to plead with the innocent woman who was manhandled by Lance Corporal Frederick Godzi Amanor in the infamous Midland Savings and Loan battering saga, her family and the entire people of Ghana to forgive him (Mr) for his despicable conduct and misapplication of force while on duty.

We were extremely shocked and demoralized when our attention was drawn to the video and other images circulating on social media platforms showing a Police Officer cladded in uniform and well-armed manhandling a certain woman.

Indeed, we at Oklepeme Foundation have known Mr. Frederick Godzi Amanor over the years as duty conscious, reliable, smart, law abiding, nonviolent and generous police officer. His publications on whatsapp and facebook also show clearly that he is an ardent supporter or advocate of the Oklepeme Foundation’s Girl Child Protection and Development Policy. Venting that level of anger on a defenseless nursing mother was truthfully unlike him and very unfortunate. We therefore plead for mercy and forgiveness for him as stand by our caution “never again”.

The Board of Trustees and Management of Oklepeme Foundation have added an amount of GHC 1,000 to this apology proclamation to help offset the bills incurred by the assaulted woman, child and her family. We declare also, our commitment to award the lad an upkeep and educational support which will aid her in the current stage through to the University.

Thank you.
