Deputy Ranking Member on Defence and Interior Committee in Parliament and Member of Parliament for Salaga North, Alhassan Mumuni, has advised the current administration to reconsider and review the Ghana–USA military base agreement before laying it before parliament for deliberation.
Under the agreement, the government will allow the US military unrestrained access to some facilities close to the Kotoka International Airport.
The facilities will be a base where military equipment will be stored for exclusive use by the US military.
Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Okudzeto Ablakwa believes the agreement favours the U.S. and undermines Ghana's sovereignty.
In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, Alhassan Mumuni, stated that a country without security can do little in terms of developmental projects.
He asked Ghanaians to look at issues bothering on security with a national eye and devoid of partisan views.
