President Mills travelled with a 25-member delegation for his three-day state visit to Britain
The managing editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt criticized the president for travelling with such a 'massive' delegation.
Pratt, claims to have rejected an ambassadorial position allegedly offered to him by President Mills. He also disclosed, that former President Kufuor gave him the same offer during his tenure of office but he rejected it, because he has always had the passion of being a media man.
He added that no politician can buy him.
According to Pratt, his colleague, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako of the New Crusading Guide was also given the same offer by the immediate past president, Mr. Kufuor in 2001, but he too rejected it.
Mr. Pratt was speaking in reaction to today’s Daily Guide newspaper story headlined “Mills Drops Bombshell”. The paper reported that Mr. Kwesi Pratt has been penciled for an ambassadorial appointment to Cuba with oversight responsibilities for a number of Caribbean countries, as well as Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela.
After rejecting the ambassadorial position, Mr. Pratt criticized President Mills for allegedly going to the United Kingdom with a 25-member delegation. His reason was that it will cost the country lots of money.
