Mills lauds Ghanaian peacekeepers

Accra, Nov. 28, GNA - National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate John Evans Atta Mills on Wednesday congratulated Ghanaian peacekeepers in Dr Congo and wished them a successful tour of duty.

In a statement to the media, Prof Mills said November 23 marked another milestone in the annals of the Ghana Armed Forces as the Ghana battalion (MONUC GHANBAT 12), stationed in the Democratic Republic of Congo was decorated with medals. "The Medal Day celebration is a pointer to the fact that the Ghana Armed Forces continue to fly high the flag of the nation and we must be proud of them," he said.

"Ghana's record in peacekeeping operations is a very envious one and I congratulate Lt. Col Abraham Nsiah, Commanding Officer of the Ghanbat, his officers and men, for the brave job they are doing in the Democratic Republic of Congo," Prof. Mills added.
