Accra, June 29, GNA - President John Atta Mills on Tuesday swore-in two new Ambassadors and charged Ghana's envoys to seek the interest of all Ghanaians in their countries of accreditation as they did Government business abroad.
The two new Ambassadors, both career diplomats are Mr Acheampong Quansah accredited to Angola, and Mr Adolphous Arthur, to Alegria. They took the Official Oath, the Oath of Secrecy and the Oath of Allegiance, administered by President Mills at the Osu Castle in Accra. President Mills later presented them with their Instrument of Office. President Mills reminded the two envoys to continue to operate within the laid down rules and regulations of the diplomatic service, acquit themselves well and continue along the path they had chosen.
He assured them of Government's fullest co-operation, and urged them to be fair to all Ghanaians resident in their countries of accreditation. They should also be "father to all" as he himself had declared to be to all Ghanaians.
This, President Mills said, would earn the envoys a good reputation in their diplomatic assignment.
"May God go with you, and make your path smooth," President Mills said. On behalf of his colleague, Mr Arthur, the Ambassador to Algeria, thanked God for the occasion, and expressed appreciation to President Mills for the confidence reposed in them. He promised that they would work hard to justify that confidence.
