Mr Antwi-Boasiako, Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Commission Mr Antwi-Boasiako, Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Commission

Mr Kwaku Addae Antwi-Boasiako, Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Commission on Tuesday warned residential developers across the country to desist from encroaching on legal Mining Leases and Quarry Concessions.

In compliance with the Statutory Regulations; Minerals and Mining (Explosives) Regulations, 2012 (L1 2177) Regulation 176, notice is hereby given to all such encroaches developing various structures within the boundaries of legally acquired Mining Leases and Quarry Concessions, to immediately put a stop to all developments and vacate such areas to avoid being forcibly evicted by the relevant security agencies.

A statement signed by Mr Antwi-Boasiako and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra said numerous cautions by the Commission’s inspectors, as well as that of mining entities to the invaders to stop developing structures within the exclusive zones of Mining Lease and Quarry Concessions, have not been heeded.

The statement further stated that these acts of indiscretion by the invaders can no longer be contained since it could be detrimental to the health and safety of the Mines operations.
