Tamale (Northern Region), 26 Oct.,
The Minister of Education, Dr. Christina Amoako-Nuama has expressed dissatisfaction about acts of vandalism, molestation, pilfering and immoral behaviour among students and called for an urgent action to reverse this trend. "I wish to stress the importance of discipline in our schools as a pre-requisite for the attainment of our educational objectives. A high level of academic attainment is often a reflection of a high standard of discipline, for discipline itself creates the right atmosphere for learning". Dr. Amoako-Nuama said this in a speech read on her behalf at the maiden speech and prize given day of Tamale Northern School of Business (NOBISCO) at Tamale yesterday, to mark the school's silver jubilee. The anniversary which was on the theme: "discipline as the key to success", was used to honour the founder of the school, Mr. Alex Samuel Otsiwa Arthur and hardworking staff and students. Dr. Amoako-Nuama said if the environment of the schools is to be a healthy one in which a sound education and training will thrive, then all social vices among students should be clamped down with all seriousness. She urged the student to apply themselves diligently to their studies and desist from unprofitable pastimes and other negative tendencies.
