Minister assures constituents of massive dev’t in 2015

Mr Akwasi Opong-Fosu, Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation has assured the people of Amenfi East District of massive development this year.

He said the development would be centered on education, health and the road network in the area, adding that, the Dwurapong-Nanako road have been awarded on contract to be tarred.

Mr Opong-Fosu was addressing residents of Appiahkrom during the yuletide during which he feted a number of children in the District.

The event annual event brought together children from the surrounding communities like Subri and Suhyenso.

Mr Opong-Fosu who is the Member of Parliament for the area said President John Dramani Mahama has fulfilled his promise to provide one additional Senior High School in the Constituency which would be situated between Dwurapong and Suyhenso to serve junior high education graduates in the area.

He also assured the chiefs and people of Appiahkrom community of the provision of CHIPS compounds, saying through his efforts, the constituency has been given 10 of the compounds, one would be sited at Appiahkrom.

Mr Opong-Fosu said the 23 CHIP compounds in the Constituency would be raised to 33 and would be the highest beneficiary in the country.

He said the area would benefit from mechanised boreholes being provided by the government.

He expressed gratitude to the chiefs and people for their continued support and pledged to do his best to ensure that basic needs in the area are provided in order to ensure healthy life.
