Bolgatanga, Aug. 11, GNA - The Upper East Regional Minister, Mr Boniface Gambila on Thursday, debunked allegations that he was supporting some party members in their campaigns for the forthcoming district level elections.
Reacting to the rumours in Bolgatanga, the minister refuted the allegations, saying, the district assembly election was supposed to be non-partisan under the constitution of Ghana and wondered why he, as a political figure would support party members in their campaigns. He said the only thing he remembered saying was that, people should elect Assembly aspirants, who were more responsible and were ready to champion the policies of the present Government to help move the nation forward.
He explained that proper development could not take place, when elected Assembly members do not advocate for development in their respective areas.
The Minister also stressed the need for more women to stand for the forthcoming districts assembly elections to enable them champion the developmental agenda of their communities and that of women to enhance their living standard.
