...Minority MPs Unhappy About Attitude Of Ministers
The NDC Minority group in Parliament on Friday expressed its displeasure over the continuing trend of Deputy Ministers appearing before the House to answer questions rather than their substantive Ministers.
Commenting on the issue, the Minority Chief Whip Hon Doe Adjaho and the NDC MP for Ho Central, Hon Kofi Attor said the attitude of the Ministers does not indicate seriousness towards the work of the House. Hon Doe Adjaho stated that the Minority members will not tolerate such development any longer. The Minority members expressed these sentiments when the Deputy Minister of Energy, Hon. T.K. Hammond appeared before the House to answer questions.
Explaining the circumstances surrounding the inability of Ministers to appear before the House, the Majority Leader, Papa Owusu Ankomah said the attitude of Ministers towards the House under the Kufour administration, has been the best. He attributed the inability of some Ministers to answer questions in the House, to foreign trips and circumstances beyond their control.
