Dr Hanna Louisa Bissiw, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, has admonished young ladies to draw inspiration from ladies in the helm of affairs and aspire to higher heights.

She advised them not to concentrate their efforts to acquire wealth at tender ages but rather gear their efforts at studying hard to complete their education, seek for employment to enable them to become self sufficient to live comfortable lives.

The Deputy Minister offered the advice at a day’s forum held for women’s group at Fijai in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis.

The forum on the theme: “The Ghanaian woman in reshaping and sustaining our democracy,” was organised by the Frontier Movement for Democracy (NFMD), a non- governmental organisation that has interest in the sensitisation of the public on their rights and responsibilities.

Dr Bissiw, said for young ladies to come up with substance, women or mothers must ensure that they are brought up in a civil and disciplined manner.

This calls for creating congenial atmosphere for girls to live in while women need to support the men to invest heavily in their children’s education to achieve their aim.

For single mothers, the Minister noted that though their situation is stressful they should resist the temptation to encourage their girls to indulge in immoral lives that would eventually turn them into liabilities.

During open forum, most of the participants appealed for loans to support their businesses to expand.

Mr Marshall Ackumey, Coordinating Secretary of the NFMD, the NGO’s aims and objectives are to inculcate into the public their rights and responsibilities.
