Minor suffers double agony from defilement

Kpassa, June 3, GNA - After suffering the ordeal of defilement, a 14-year-old primary three pupil had to endure an operation in her private part due to a two-centimetre deep cut she sustained during the act.

The girl, who was operated on by Dr Emmanuel Kasu, Medical Superintendent of the Nkwanta District Hospital, now walks with difficulty.

Chigri Kwaku, a 35-year-old farmer at Kpassa Zongo, was alleged to have gagged and forcibly defiled the minor when he lured her into his room under the pretext of sending her on April 29. Kwaku raised the volume on his radio-cassette player so people could not hear her screams but her mother heard it and with the help of neighbours forced the door open.

Mr Douglas Kumah, Nkwanta District Police Commander, confirmed the incident and said Kwaku would be prosecuted.
