The Member of Parliament for Damongo in the Savanna Region, Mr Adam Mutawakilu, has issued a one-week ultimatum to the Communication Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the region, Mr Mohammed Issah to retract and apologise for making defamatory comments against him or answer in court.
The ultimatum comes on the back of the missing Toyota Hilux pickup belonging to the Regional Coordinating Council in the region.
Mr Issah, in a statement, claimed the Damango lawmaker is aware of the whereabouts of the missing vehicle and called on the regional police command to invite him and his aide for questioning.
Mr Mutawakilu has denied knowledge of the missing vehicle and through his lawyer, Dr Dominic Ayine described the allegation against him as “false and malicious”.
Mr Mutawakilu said the publication by the NPP communication director is harmful to his reputation and published for the sole purpose of lowering his hard-earned reputation.
He is calling on Mr Issah to publish a retraction of the publication and an apology within a week or he [Mutawakilu] will institute legal action against him and demand cost for the damage done his reputation.
