ACCRA, Sept. 10, A mob believed to be supporters of Rev. Dr Augustine Annor-Yeboah of the Christ Apostolic Church [CAC], today attacked two pressmen for allegedly taking pictures of the reverend. They claimed that Mr Maxwell Bilson, a Cameraman and Mr Ike Iddan Biney, a Reporter, both of the Ghanaian Times, took pictures of the pastor when he was leaving the court premises.
Reverend Annor-Yeboah was in court to testify in a case in which he has been accused of seducing a church member's wife. The case has been adjourned to October 15.
In the process, the Cameraman's shirt got torn while the lenses of his camera were broken. Mr Biney's spectacles and wrist watch were seized by the mob.
However, he managed to retrieve the wrist watch with the assistance of a policeman on duty.
Other policemen who were also at the scene helped to restore law and order. Later in an interview with the GNA, Mr Bilson denied ever taking pictures of Rev Annor-Yeboah, saying he was prepared to develop the film to show that the picture was not taken as charged by the mob.
