Mobile registration teams short of registration materials

Ho, Aug. 4, GNA - Registration materials are said to be in short supply at the Tokokoe Abudi L.A JSS and the Klave R.C. Primary School registration centres in the Tokokoe/Tanyigbe and Klave/Hoe electoral areas respectively in the Ho Municipality. The two registration centres, being served by mobile registration teams cover a total of 10 polling stations. The mobile teams would move to other electoral areas after Monday August 4.

Mr Felix Dawoe, Registration Officer at the Tokokoe Abudi L.A JSS registration centre said but for the shortage of registration materials, the exercise was moving smoothly in the area. As at 1020 hours when the GNA got there, 84 people had registered. Mr Martin Kporvu, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) agent said the exercise had been smooth and that he was impressed at the turnout. He said the number of people who turned up were high and wondered if all could be registered before the close of the exercise as some had to walk long distances to the centres. He said a total of 23 people were registered as at 1000 hours on Monday.

At the Klave RC Primary School registration centre in the Klave/Hoe electoral area, Mr Martin Alakpa, Registration Officer said registration materials supplied to the centre were insufficient and that the workload involved was too much for four officials to handle. The two registration Centres, which are outside the Ho Municipality are mobile registration centres. 04 Aug. 08
