ModernGhana case: Trumped-up charges will be decimated in court – Lawyer

Lawyer for Editor of online news portal ModernGhana.com Emmanuel Ajarfor is hopeful that the court will dismiss what he calls trumped-up charges brought against his client.

Mr Ajarfor and one other journalist of ModerGhana.com were arrested and detained over a publication relating to the National Security Minister, Albert Kan-Dapaah.

He has been charged with conspiracy to commit crime to wit stealing, unauthorized access to electronic records and stealing.

The Lawyer, Sampson Lardi Ayenini tells Starr News his client is ready to face prosecutors in court.

“They can’t find charges or they will find trumped up charges and they will be decimated in court. I’m in a hurry and my client is in a hurry, he prefers to be taken to court a lot quickly because now that he’s not taken to court and is on police bail the police will invite him every day, today come tomorrow come and you go there and you can clearly see that there’s an intention to punish and fatigue this young man.

“Once again let me tell you this, he’s in a hurry to be put before court so that at least after he’s put before court no police will be asking him to come today come tomorrow.”
