Host of Good Evening Ghana, Paul Adom-Otchere has chastised the deputy editor of ModernGhana over an article which sets to call upon the president to dismiss the National Security Minister, Albert Kan Dapaah.
According to him, even though he should sympathize his colleague journalists over their ordeal suffered in the hands of the national security officials, but as journalists, they shouldn’t have done that in the first place.
He said the journalists should have consulted the minister, his office or close compatriots before publishing the story on their online portal.
This, he added will make the story about the National Security minister balanced.
“The kind of allegations they made in publication behoves the journalist to actually check the veracity of the story,” he stated on Good Evening Ghana monitored by GhanaWeb.
Mr Adom-Otchere admonished journalists in the country to hold the ethics of the profession in high regard stressing the need to do crosschecking before publishing stories.
He maintained that although the right of journalists is ingrained in the laws of the country, there are limitations to it.
