Ghanaian football legend, Mohammed Achmed Polo, says it’s wrong to have two assistant coaches for Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah due to the difference in their respective managerial skills.

Tanko Mohammed and Maxwell Konadu are the two assistant for Kwesi Appiah with Stephen Appiah and Richard Kingston serving as the technical coordinator and goalkeepers’ trainer respectively.

According to Polo, also known as the dribbling magician, it’s unreasonable to have a large crop of former players managing one team, as their respective expertise would have to be diverse into other national teams.

In an interview with Anopa Bosuo Sports on Happy FM, Polo said: “It’s wrong to have both Tanko Ibrahim and Maxwell Konadu as assistants to Kwesi Appiah at the Black Stars; because if Kwesi fails, the trio will be considered failures and hence all will be fired.

“Tanko should be given the U20 to manage. It’s unreasonable to put all the former players together to manage only one team. Their expertise must be diversified at the various national teams.Giving them other teams to manage will enable them get the Black Stars job if Appiah fails,” Polo stated.
