The worship of God, the Scriptures and Christian faith as a whole, according to Mr Emmanuel E. Agbozo, leader of Ghana Evangelical Society, has been turned into paganistic system for the pursuit of power, shelter and materialism.
To this end, he said, the negative effect of this approach to Christian worship is to produce a citizenry whose God and trust is money and success.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra recently, he revealed that there seems to be no concern or regard for the knowledge of God and His Kingdom on earth.
Touching on corruption, he said the word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit have been misapplied to deceive, manipulate and seduce their trust in men.
In this wave of corruption in the church, he said, money has become the motivation and banner of much a church activity to the extent of the Christian faith and Christian worship being at the altar of populism.
They consult fetish shrines, dwarfs among others and enforce satanic rites in the name of Christianity and church worship, he underscored.
These practices, he said, do not only give impressions as to a true Christian but rather lead the non-suspecting, helpless and ignorant intothe very bosom of Satan, his demonic host.
Continuing, he observed that some people who claim to be ministers have introduced satanic powers for signs and miracles in their ministry to bait people to their church.
He further explained that sovereignty, knowledge, and fear in the worship and honour of God have no place in a religion where all that is required is faith in selected biblical text and human wisdom, mixed with rites to produce man determined for salvation.
However, he said in this system, Jesus Christ is no more the Saviour, Redeemer for whom we are saved .
Giving the purpose of the press conference as one to solicit and convey a message from the Most High to the churches in Ghana, he advised pastors to turn away from the evil one, Satan who came to rob, kill and destroy.
