Montreal & Toronto NPP to Meet in Toronto

The Montreal and Toronto (Canada) Chapters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will hold a two-day Delegates Conference in Toronto, Canada largest City on Saturday April 9, 2005. The Conference which will be held at the at Al-Curuba Banquet Hall, 1760 Albion Road, Etobicoke. is a preparatory one for a Canada-wide NPP Congress later this year.

Under the theme, Effective Collaboration for Positive Change Chapter 2 and Beyond, the Conference will explore ways of generating a larger membership for the NPP in Canada and also discuss strategies for assisting the National Party at home to retain power in the 2008 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.

Other topics for discussion at the conference include ways of mobilizing resources from Ghanaians in the Diaspora to assist in the development of Ghana and positive lobbying for voting rights for overseas-resident Ghanaians and the implementation of the Dual Citizenship Act.

The Ghana?s High Commissioner in Canada and former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, His Excellency Samuel Arthur Odoi Sykes, will deliver the Key-Note Address to the Conference.

The Conference will round-off with a Diner-Dance from 9.00 P.M Saturday till 3.00 A.M Sunday April 10.
