Security Analyst Adam Bonaa believes the immediate-past Director-General of the CID of the Ghana Police Service, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah is the best person to boost the morale of personnel of the Service which he says is at an all-time low.
COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah was reassigned as the new Director-General in charge of Welfare in the latest shakeup that hit the Service.
She’s been replaced by COP Isaac Ken Yeboah who was Director-General in charge of Administration.
Adam Bonaa commenting on COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah’s new position in an interview with host Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5FM said the IGP was spot on with his reassignment of the top female police officer.
“Morale in the Police Service is at an all-time lowest because promises in terms of welfare made to the personnel over the years have not been fulfilled. So some of us who are privileged to work with the police service and other security agencies knowing whom Maame Yaa Tiwaa is and knowing how efficient and robust she could be if she wants to be she’ll surely do a great job in her new position. Her new mandate will require that she moves from one place to another making sure that the confidence level of the personnel is up and what is due them will be given them.”
Adam Bonaa added: “If you look at how she related and how she worked within the Criminal Investigation Department she’ll certainly deliver in her new position. Remember that when we conducted research on who should be the next IGP she was the fourth out of 12 people. And out of 522 officers we spoke to all ranks she did so well among the officers we spoke to. What it tells you is that police officers, in general, seem to have a lot of believe in Maame Yaa Tiwaa and the way she goes about her things when she’s dealing with colleague officers and I believe that with that goodwill chances are that now that she’s the Head of Welfare she should be able to assist her colleagues to get to where they want to get to.”
