The arrest of NDC financier seem to be just a tip of the iceberg of many more arrests and invitations by the Ghana Police of persons who may be implicated in the Alfred Woyome scandal.
This was according to a Deputy Information Minister Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa who told Citi News the President “has decided to roll out a series of actions.
"It is the first of these actions which has culminated into the arrest of Mr. Alfred Woyome. For now the police have taken custody of Mr. Woyome, they would take his statement and charges would be proffered.
“It is looking very likely that criminal charges would be brought against Mr. Alfred Woyome. The other actions which the president has decided to carry out in this matter would be announced in due course as and when those actions are carried out. ”
According to Mr. Okudjeto Ablakwa, the action which was carried out, was ordered by the President after he was briefed by the Attorney General who had studied EOCO’s interim report which expressly spelt out how Mr. Woyome engaged himself in some actions that earned him the said amount of money.
Mr. Woyome is however still in CID custody where he spent the whole of Friday Night.
