More than 2,000 people receive free medical screening in Agona West

A total of 1,800 school children and 400 adults at Agona Nyakrom have received free dental and health screening carried out by a team of Dental doctors and other medical staff from United States of America(USA) and Ghana.

The team cleaned the teeth of children to make them stronger and extracted bad ones while adults who were suffering from diseases such as diabetics, blood pressure (BP), eye problems and others were also treated.

Speaking to the media, Mr Kojo Frempong, a Ghanaian leader of the Medical Team from US said it started its voluntary work 10 years ago together with some selected medical staff from Ghanaian hospitals.

The beneficiary children from both public and private schools at Agona Nyakrom later received toothbrushes, exercise books, pencils and used clothing free of charge.

He said similar exercises had been carried out in Ashanti, Bono, Ahafo, Eastern and Greater Accra regions.

Mrs Justina Marigold Assan, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Agona West expressed appreciation for the Medical team for the gesture adding that the people treated have been relieved of their burden to help enhance productivity.

The MCE expressed the hope that Medical team would visit again for more people in the Area to benefit from the exercise.

She praised Mr Frempong, and the team who arrived in Ghana at their own expense for treating and also donating valuable items to the school children as well as adults.
