Moslems advised to live in peace

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A) Feb. 4, GNA- Mr. Emmanuel Duku, Dormaa District Chief Executive has expressed concern about the increasing religious conflicts among Moslems in the country.

He noted that such conflicts retarded progress and development and urged them to avoid such practices and unite to ensure the development of their areas.

Mr. Duku was addressing Moslems during the celebration of the Edil Ul Adha festival at Dormaa-Ahenkro.

He emphasized the importance of education in nation building and asked them to ensure that their children received secular education. He advised them to register when the voters' register is reopened. Mr.Duku asked them to be tolerant and to respect each other's views during political campaigns.

Alhaji Mohammed Montalo, Dormaa District Chief Iman noted that the government alone could not provide all the needs of the people and asked them to work harder to supplement governments efforts. He warned them against negative tendencies including rumour mongering, backbiting and petty squabbles.
