An unidentified woman at Manso Atwere in the Ashanti Region has allegedly assaulted her toddler after he took GH¢5 to buy porridge.

This disturbing incident of child abuse came to light after it was shared on X by a user named With Alvin on Friday, October 4, 2024.

The post stated, "My heart bleeds. I know we are fighting against Galamsey but Lord, I just shed a tear. A mother abuses her son, who took GH¢5 to buy Koko in the morning. The incident happened at Manso Atwere, a town in the Ashanti Region of Ghana."

A video accompanying the post shows the toddler with visible marks on one side of his head, reportedly from the beating he received from his mother.

It is unclear what has happened to the mother after this incident or whether the police or domestic violence officials have been notified about this.
