Nestle Milo, one of the leading beverage brands in the country, Saturday celebrated Ghanaian mothers at Queensland International School.

The celebration event was organised essentially to establish a bond between Milo and the mothers of future champions. Over the years Milo has provided the energy food drink for Ghanaian families especially children, even so, on this special occasion, the beverage brand has shifted its focus on mothers, the bearers and nurturers of these champions.

The Nestle Milo mother’s day celebration was packed with series of events, the fun started with a 2 kilometer health walk from the premises of Queensland Int. School at Nungua through to Sakumono estates, Lashibi, Spintex Junction and back to Queensland where the walk commenced.

Aside the health walk, mothers together with their children participated in aerobics, tag of Milo and sack race competition. Mothers who gathered at the event had healthy living tips from an invited medical practitioner after which they were taken through a free health screening.

They were treated to free Nestle products, photo-shoot for both mothers and children and bouncing castle plus other fun activities for the kids.

With a random selection of five schools around Queensland, the event saw about 50 mothers each from the selected schools and approximately 700 children all gathered to have fun.

Category Manager of Beverages, Nestle Ghana, Fumi Osineye stated that the event was dedicated to mothers, and also to celebrate their efforts in raising the future generation. According to Fumi, mothers hardly set aside time to have fun with their children, therefore Nestle Milo created this opportunity to allow mothers have a fun time with their children. She also seized the chance to wish Ghanaian mothers well.

Deputy Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration, Mrs. Iva B. Denoo who was present at the event as a parent lauded Nestle Milo for the initiative. She stated that every mom needs to be appreciated because mothers as part of parents are doing very well in bringing up children.

She advised that mothers should take key interest in bringing up their children although it is tough combining work and managing the home.
