Mount emergency response system at BECE centres - Asuogyaman MP to GES

MP, Asuogyaman Constituency, Thomas Ampem Nyarko MP, Asuogyaman Constituency, Thomas Ampem Nyarko

The member of Parliament for Asuogyaman constituency is suggesting to the district education directorate to liaise with Ghana Health Service to activate emergency response system at all examination centers to enhance swift first aid medical intervention for candidates who suddenly fall sick or collapse at any of the exams centers.

Thomas Ampem Nyarko's call comes after one of the candidates collapsed and reportedly died from hunger a year ago at Senchi while another female candidate gave birth spontaneously without medical assistance.

Careful observation by some supervisors indicates that some candidates fall sick and collapse after writing some papers due to stress and hunger.

The MP, Thomas Ampem Nyarko has been providing one hot meal a day for the One thousand seven hundred and fifty-four (1754) candidates writing the BECE in the District.

He says all the candidates will be fed for the five days the exam will last.

He told Journalists after touring some exams centers the gesture is to curb absenteeism among the candidates.

Only a few of the candidates failed to show up for reasons yet to be established.

Some of the Candidates who spoke to Journalists were optimistic of coming out with flying colours.
