Mr Domestication Ready For 2008

The leader and presidential candidate of the Great Consolidated People's Party (GCPP), Mr. Dan Lartey has broken his long silence and criticized the government over its governance methods saying the NPP government is not performing efficiently. He also spoke of his ambitions for the 2008 elections saying that he still has ambitions to become the next president of Ghana.

Mr. Dan Lartey observed that the country is currently being run in a very poor manner which was why he was offering himself as a candidate for the next elections in order for him to direct the country to what he called "its rightful future".

He accused President Kufuor of stalling the development of this country, adding that he is the one for the people come 2008. He also stated that development of the people should reflect in their pockets which he said is not the case despite the upward trend of macro economic indicators. He also commented on the current debt situation saying that Ghana presently does not have any debts to pay. He accused the Kufuor administration of flirting with western powers who he said had the tendency of co-opting Ghana's economy. Dr K.A Busia's government which the NPP takes its roots from has been identified over the years as a government which failed partly because of it's over dependence on western economic policies.

Some have been referring to that period of the nation's economic history as the "co-optation of a least developed nation" and other analysts like Thomas Libby calling Busia a ?puppet par excellence'. The leader of the GCPP believes the NPP is treading the same grounds which he says has the tendency of sending the country backwards.

He further expressed his readiness for election 2008 with the launch his website which he believes will be an effective campaign tool.
