The Member of Parliament for Cape Coast, Mr. Ebo Barton-Odro on Saturday held a press briefing discussing his intention to seek a second term and his vision and aspirations for the Municipality in 2013,
Among his vision were the further development of science education, the construction of more infrastructure in addition to the 43 classroom blocks, one completed dormitory as well as three other girls’ dormitories under construction, three boys’ dormitories and the continuation of children’s library all in Cape Coast.
On the health sector, he said there has been the construction of Clinical Teaching Centre at the Central Regional hospital in Cape Coast, to enable students from Cape Coast University (UCC) have their clinical studies there instead of going to Korle-Bu.
He said there have also been the construction of maternity and laboratory blocks and nurses’ headquarters at Efutu, and the establishment of the aged clinic at Ministries block in Cape Coast, that gives prompt medical attention to the aged.
This, he said, is in addition to the 23 public toilets for some schools and communities that have been constructed, five community centers, of which some have been completed and others on-going and the construction of sheds for fishmongers all in the Metropolis.
The construction of roads and bridges and also six rural electrification projects in some areas have been accomplished for the people of Cape Coast, he said.
Mr. Barton Odro appealed to the people of Cape Coast to vote massively for him to continue his vision of developing the Metropolis.
