Ivor Ishmael Elikplim, the Operations Manager of Multi Credit Savings and Loans, Nkawkaw branch in the Eastern Region, has been remanded by the Nkawkaw Magistrate Court for assaulting a female employee, Martha Adutwumwaa, a mobile banker, over GHC90 she failed to account for.

Elikplim, who pleaded guilty, will remain in police custody until his next court appearance on June 28, 2024, for sentencing.

The altercation between the manager and the victim degenerated into a barbaric attack on the female worker.

The incident gained significant public attention after a shocking video of the assault went viral on social media, showing Elikplim violently attacking Adutwumwaa in the office.

The footage has sparked widespread outrage and called for justice.

“I told him I don’t have money on me, so I will pay it later. I don’t have any grudges against him. During the altercation, we exchanged insults. He accused me of being a witch. He told me he could make me bedridden, which I challenged him on, and that made him very angry. He beat me several times. I went to the hospital, was treated, and was discharged,” Martha Adutwumwaa narrated.
