Accra, March 30, GNA - Multi-media Broadcasting Company (MBC) on Tuesday presented a 40-watt radio transmitter to the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) to provide students with professional skills and on-hand experience. Mr Martin Esson-Benjamin, Chairman of the Board of MBC, who made the presentation said: "Our gesture today aims to erase some of the handicaps which characterized the study of broadcast journalism in this institute." He said the presentation was in line with MBC's corporate social responsibility strategy to enable them o build relationships with relevant training institutions and offer students the opportunity to practice during their course.
The Board Chairman said knowledge and skills must be shared with broadcast journalists, who in future would move the broadcasting industry forward. Mr David Newton, Director of the Institute, receiving the transmitter said it was in fulfilment of an appeal made by the Institute and expressed his appreciation to the company.
