Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) for Tamale, Iddrisu Musah Superior would be putting himself up for election as General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) barring any last minute changes.

Mynewsgh.com has confirmed from incontrovertible sources that the former campaign aide to then flagbearer of the party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is leaving nothing to chance in his resolve to become the chief scribe of the elephant family.

Though he declined comment when reached on the matter on phone, sources close to him indicated that he is feverishly lacing his boots for the position when the party announces the opening of nominations for new executives.

Iddirsu Musah Superior who played a vital role in the campaign of suspended General Secretary of the party, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong later fell off with him over his style of administration and certain decisions he was reported to have taken.

Meanwhile, acting General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu has hinted that he will wish to be confirmed as the substantive when the party goes to congress somewhere next year.

There are reports that former General Secretary, Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie currently Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Forestry Commission will also stage a comeback.

He is however yet to confirm or deny if he still has hopes in being the scribe of the party after his defeat to Kwabena Agyappong in the Tamale Congress.

His colleague, Mr Johnson Asideu Nketia however warns that embarrassment awaits him should he decide to come back for the position.

“If you know him advise him not to contest again because he will be disgraced…..he is my friend and on a personal ground, I wish he never stands for the election again. He has achieved an enviable record during his tenure as General Secretary and I think it is best he stays put and calm wherever he is”, he stated on Okay FM.

According to the Chief Scribe of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sir John as affectionately called, has served his party very well indicating that it is in his best interest not to contest the next elections.
