Muslims urged to respect the rights of others

Koforidua, Nov.3, GNA - The Eastern Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Yusif Sulemana Amdani, has called on Muslims to respect the rights of others in society. Delivering the sermon at this year's Eid-Ul-Fitr to mark the end of Ramadan, he called on Muslims to live in peace with everyone in line with the tenets of Islam.

Alhaji Amdani urged Muslims to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to enable them benefit from better health care delivery.

He expressed appreciation of Muslims to the Government for the introduction of the Capitation grant and advised Muslim parents to take advantage of the facility and send their children to school. Alhaji Amdani advised Muslims in the Eastern Region to associate themselves with the New Juaben Muslim Education Fund launched last year that had already sponsored 11 students to the universities, polytechnics and Teacher Training Colleges.

The New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Nana Adjei Boateng, called on Muslims to assist the poor in their communities. He urged Muslims to live in peace with people from other religions and assured them of the Government's support to improve their standard of living.
