Muslims youth urged to volunteer information

Alhaji Amidu Sulemana, the Upper West Regional Minister, has urged Muslim youth to volunteer information about the activities of criminals, to the security agencies and also abstain from illegal behaviour to make society safe and peaceful.

He said the behaviour put up by Muslims during the fasting period should be sustained at all times, for others to emulate so as to make society free of criminals.

Alhaji Sulemana was addressing a congregation of orthodox Muslims during the end of the Ramadan fasting at Wa-Naa Sidiki’s Park in Wa on Saturday.

He also urged the Muslims to do more to sustain the National Sanitation Day clean-up exercise in the communities, to rid the region of cholera and other insanitary-related diseases.

“We must continuously maintain personal and environmental hygiene to make us look healthy and productive at all times,” he said.

The Regional Minister encouraged Muslims to support women to participate in the district level election, saying: “let avoid electing persons into the district assemblies on political party lines.”

The non-performance of some District Assemblies could be as a result of election of some incompetent persons into the Assemblies on political party lines.
