BLACK Stars prolific striker, Prince Tagoe has stated in an interview with 90 Minutes that he believes in spite of getting on the score sheet a couple of times for the national team, he still has a lot to prove in terms of his goal scoring prowess in leading the nation to the next World/Nations Cup competitions. Speaking to the “Prince of Goals” on his current form and the chances of the Black Stars in qualifying for the next World/Nations Cup in 2010 in South Africa and Angola respectively, he said with his current menacing scoring form, he is confident that Ghana would without doubt qualify for both events.
“With my goals I have no doubt that Ghana would qualify to the next World/Nations Cup competitions. I believe I have improved a lot as a striker so I don't find it strange that the goals are flowing. I have waited patiently for this opportunity and I hope to continue with my hard work because that is the only means by which I can help the nation and for my name to become a household one. We all have a duty to qualify the nation to the 2010 competitions and for me that is my major role I want to play”.
When asked about his proposed move to Europe to continue with his professional career, the Al-Ittifaq of Saudi Arabia striker said though he's not in a hurry to move out of his current Saudi club, he would not rule out a move to one of the big European clubs this summer if the offer suits him and that of his club. He explained: “Though I have not received any such concrete offers that would entice me to leave my current club yet, I would not completely rule out a move to Europe if the terms are right. It would be wonderful to play for any of these big European clubs because I believe in myself and knows too well that I would not fail when the time comes. It's the dream of every footballer to play for a big club but I must admit that I'm not too much in a rush and would take my time and study all the offers carefully before making any such move” he added.
