My developmental projects will re-elect me – Alhaji Toure

Alhaji Naiser Mahama Toure, Member of Parliament (MP) for East Ayawaso in the Greater Accra Region, has advised party card holders in the constituency to make wise decisions by voting massively for him.

This he said is based on the great visible developmental project he has brought to the constituency during his short term as MP of the area.

Addressing party supporters after a health walk to round up his campaign, he reiterated that his mission for re-election is to improve on the barriers to socio-economic growth by standing up for the many and not the few.

He said since his assumption of office: “I have successfully build a resilient constituency in which vulnerable people are not only protected against livelihood risks, but are provided with the needed support systems to be able to create, sustain, and expand wealth, in good health, and in an atmosphere of peace, trust and transparency based on a five thematic area strategy.”

On education Alhji Toure said schools in the constituency which are in need of either renovation or additional classroom blocks has been given the necessary attention in order to make sure students enjoy quality education, adding: “It’s been done at the Islamic Education Institute school popularly known as “Mallam Mustapha Yaa Jalal” School with the building of a new classroom block as well as a wall to cover the school for security reasons.

He said students at the all levels are constantly supported in payment of their school fees from the MP’s common fund and from a statutory fund he has set up by himself personally with seed money of GH?10, 000.00 which is been disbursed in a transparent manner.

“I will continue to help in supply of learning materials such as exercise books, mathematical sets, pens, pencils and other materials that will aide teaching and learning at the basic level.”

The MP said these academic materials have been giving to the students writing the Basic Education Certificate Examination for several years and that he has disbursed more than 340 school uniforms, 300 desks in the constituency so as to bring forth quality education to constituents.

On health Alhaji Toure said he has already assisted more than 1,400 women, children and the elderly with free national health insurance scheme registration and would continue to support his constituents with financial constraints to enroll onto the scheme.

“I intend availing this package to about 1800 people every year. The number will be given an upward review as the package keeps rolling depending on the finances available to him at a particular given time.”

“I have been supporting healthcare delivery in the constituency with some donations like providing the Nima Government Clinic with ambulance and a new storey building block and support packages to some health facilities.

“Indeed I shall ensure that after the completion of this new hospital block it would be fully furnished and I will widen the free periodic medical screening for the constituents so that the impact would be more felt.”

He said maternal and newborn health and adolescent sexual reproductive health are most critical areas and that his office would provide support in collaboration with partners.

He said, his office has recognised and work closely with corporate organisations within the constituency to support youth empowerment programmes as a part of their corporate social responsibility.

“I will also with the National Youth Authority and Youth Enterprise Support scheme to support entrepreneurial mentorship programmes that would facilitate enterprise development by coaching, mentoring and continues guidance by industry leaders, and other volunteer successful entrepreneurs.”

Alhaji Toure said, his office is working on a new strategy for women and men groups in the various wards across the constituency to be supported with micro-business models, especially in manufacturing and production of improved local products and services and these may include production of traditional tie and dye cloths, local drinks and many more.

He noted that vehicular traffic is speedily becoming a challenge in East Ayawaso, especially on market days and so the long awaited construction of Madina lorry station in Nima, the bridges linking Nima to Newtown, frankies area drainage and roads are ongoing.

“I am putting up new streetlights as well as the replacement of old ones with a donation of over 45 street lights to the 37 military hospitals and with the collaboration of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly to ease up the flow of traffic, and to support traders relocate from unapproved places to well-designed structures where their safety, health, esteem and happiness will be guaranteed.

“Rehabilitation of sports grounds in schools within the constituency will be done in tranches so as to reignite interest of children.”

Alhaji Toure noted that to facilitate easier access to the MP, “I have commission a new office in the constituency and has my doors opened daily from Monday to Saturday for individuals and groups to meet me and deliberate on developmental issues.”

He said he is confident that the people of East Ayawaso would re-elect him on November 21with the greatest margin ever known to continue his good work to the good people.
