The Member of Parliament-elect for Tano South and son of Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, Charles Asiedu, has stated that while his father's influence played a crucial role in his victory, he worked diligently to secure the seat himself.

Speaking in an interview with 1957News after completing his registration process in Parliament on Sunday, January 5, 2025, Charles Asiedu shared his thoughts on his win.

He mentioned that while his father's influence was pivotal, he also put in significant effort to secure the victory.

"My father was not surprised because he knew my capabilities when I won the election. He was really excited that his son was going to be a member of the 9th Parliament," he said.

Charles Asiedu, who secured 20,056 votes, successfully unseated the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament, Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere, who garnered 19,061 votes.
