Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, the wife of the New Patriotic Party flagbearer, has assured Ghanaians that Nana Akufo-Addo will fix the current situation of high prices of goods and services.

Speaking to market women of the Tuesday Market in the Ablekuma District, Mrs. Akufo-Addo said an NPP government will implement policies which will enhance their profits, hence the need to vote for Akufo-Addo and the NPP.

She encouraged them to be strong and make sure the NPP comes to power come the November 7, 2016 elections for Ghana to experience the “change the people have been crying for.”

Mrs Akufo Addo, later visited residents and fishermen of Chemung at the sea shore, where she entreated them to gear up for change and vote for the NPP to address the numerous problems of the fishing industry.

“The NPP will support you and the industry because it is an important sector to Ghana's economic and socio-cultural development," she said, after the fishermen had complained about the astronomical increase in the prices of fishing equipment, the scarcity of pre-mix fuel and other challenges, which have negatively affected their fishing business.

Mrs Akufo-Addo assured the fishermen of the commitment of the NPP to fix not just the fishing industry, but the entire economy saying, "an NPP government under the leadership of my husband would not make the supply of fishing equipment, access to subsidized pre-mix fuel, affordable cold storage and subsidized outboard motors a once- in four-year election gimmick, but would initiate a sustained programme of action to holistically address challenges in the fishing industry”.

She was accompanied by the parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma South, Jerry Ahmed Shaibu, a former mayor of Accra, Adjiri Blankson, constituency executives among others.
